Our private hibachi chef arrives with a professional flat-top, sets up wherever you point — backyard, patio, garage, driveway or under a range hood indoors — and cooks in front of your guests for about 90 minutes. Nobody drives, nobody watches the clock, and the guest of honour never leaves the party. That is the whole argument for hibachi at home over a table for twelve.

What a birthday hibachi party includes

Every booking includes the chef, the grill and propane, all the cooking, the fire show and the clean-up of our own station. Each plate comes with fried rice, seasoned vegetables, salad and our signature sauces, plus your choice of two proteins per guest. Kids get the same show with a simpler plate — chicken and fried rice, no spice, sauces on the side. This is full mobile hibachi catering, not a drop-off tray: the food is cooked in front of you and served hot off the grill.

Pricing you can plan a birthday around

Adults are $55 each, children are $30 each, and there is a $550 event minimum — about ten adults. Travel is a flat $50 covering the first 50 miles with tolls included, then $1 per mile past that. Filet mignon and scallops are premium upgrades; lobster tail is available on request. If your headcount lands under the minimum, the party still books — you simply pay the minimum instead of a per-head total below it, so a small in-home hibachi dinner for six is entirely normal for us.

How a birthday hibachi night actually runs

You pick a date and a rough headcount. We confirm the chef, the setup spot and a rain plan at the same time — booking the rain plan costs nothing and saves a scramble. On the day the chef arrives 20 to 30 minutes early to set up, cooks through the guest list in courses, and times the last plate so the cake lands right after. Then comes the spatula drum, the chant, and a fire show if the space allows it. We are packed up and gone within a half hour of the last plate.

Questions we get asked

How far in advance should I book a birthday hibachi party?
Two to three weeks is comfortable. Weekend dates in summer and around the holidays go first, so if your date is fixed, book as soon as you have a rough headcount — the guest count can be adjusted later, but a chef someone else has taken cannot be un-booked.
Is hibachi a good idea for a kids birthday party?
It is one of the best kids parties we do, because the cooking is the entertainment. The chef does the onion volcano, the egg roll on the spatula and tosses shrimp for kids to catch. Children are $30 each and the plates can be kept plain — chicken and fried rice, no spice, sauces on the side.
What is the minimum for a small birthday dinner?
There is a $550 event minimum, which is roughly ten adults at $55 each. Smaller parties still book; you pay the minimum rather than a per-head total below it. Travel is a flat $50 for the first 50 miles with tolls included, then $1 per mile.
Can the chef cook indoors if it rains?
Usually yes. We cook indoors under a range hood, in an open garage or on a covered porch, and we confirm ventilation with you before the date. Ask for a rain plan when you book — it costs nothing.
Do you bring the cake or handle the birthday moment?
We do not supply cake, but we build the evening around it. Tell us the guest of honour’s name and when you want the moment, and the chef times the last plate so the cake lands right after.
